June 2017 — As is with most purchases on previous owned properties, there are renovations and upgrades to be done. Little did we know this adventure would take a long time and two contractors to get the cabin up to our standards. We knew when we purchased the property there was a great deal of work to be done.
I will not go into detail so lets just say, this was an adventure that took a few turns that were unexpected. Finding the right contractor is crucial in any renovation project. It took us the second time around before we found Kevin Dyke who did an awesome job with cleaning up a prior contractors mess and our finished project was pretty awesome.
It was a huge undertaking as we had all the walls stripped and refinished, additional decks built, kitchen renovations including new granite countertops and appliances as well as lighting and bathroom renovations. New paint on the entire outside and a new roof and guttering as well as all new windows. We widened the driveway and paved the parking lot and recapped the existing driveway.
We did quite a bit of landscaping with the removal of a lot of trees to clear the way for an awesome view of the lake and mountains. That project is almost done and should be completed Spring 2019. We added a retaining stone wall, fencing and some scrubs and we are excited to add some rose bushes and grass to the bank along the driveway soon. Things are looking really nice!
